What it is

A trine is an angle of about 120 degrees between two planets. Divide the 360-degree zodiac wheel into three equal parts and you get 120 degrees, which is why a trine draws a triangle on the chart. The most important detail: planets in trine almost always sit in signs of the same element — fire with fire, earth with earth, air with air, water with water. A Sun in Leo and a Mars in Sagittarius are both fire, so they speak the same elemental language.
