منتصف السماء

أعلى نقطة في الخريطة، وترتبط بالمسيرة المهنية والدور الاجتماعي والصورة العامة. النقطة المقابلة، وهي IC، تشير إلى البيت وأسسك الداخلية.

What it is

The midheaven — often called the MC, from the Latin Medium Coeli, "middle of the sky" — is the highest point in your birth chart. It's where the ecliptic meets the top of the sky as seen from your birthplace at your birth moment, and in most house systems it marks the cusp of the tenth house. It's a mathematical point rather than a planet, which is why it's drawn as an axis marker instead of a symbol like Mars or Venus.

In plain terms, it points to your public life: career, reputation, and the role you play in the world at large. If the ascendant is how you greet people at the door, the midheaven is what you're known for in the wider community — the part of your life most visible to people you've never met.

How to read it

You'll find the midheaven at the top of the chart, usually written "MC" on the tenth-house cusp. The sign on it describes how you approach achievement — a Capricorn midheaven tends toward building slowly and steadily, while a Leo one leans into visible, creative leadership. A planet sitting close to the MC also colors your public image, and the planet ruling the MC's sign is said to guide your career path.

Read it fairly, though: the midheaven alone gives a headline, not the full article. The ruler of the tenth house, any planets actually in the tenth, and the aspects they make all refine the story. Good chart-reading weighs these together rather than jumping from the MC sign to a job prediction.

What it means in practice

The midheaven is often the first thing career-minded people ask about, but it's not a job title generator. It describes the style and drive you bring to public work, the reputation you tend to build, and the kind of contribution you're drawn to make. People with the same midheaven sign end up in very different jobs; the sign is more about how you climb than which ladder you pick.

A common misunderstanding is expecting the MC to name a specific profession. It works better as a lens on your professional life, read alongside the tenth house and its ruler. And it's one point among many — a strong MC doesn't override the rest of the chart.

How it connects

The midheaven sits at the top of a vertical axis whose bottom point is the IC (Imum Coeli): the IC points to home, family, and inner roots, the MC to your public place in the world. It's one of the four angles of the chart along with the ascendant and descendant, and in most systems it begins the tenth house. Transits and progressions touching the MC are often read as significant career moments.
